Is it just me, or do Canadian hockey fans tend to give off that 'slighted yet hopeful ex-boyfriend' vibe?
I say this after spending 30 minutes on the elliptical tonight at the gym. There, I found myself gritting my teeth as I watched barbeque-mastering, red-state inhabiting, Dubya-loving Texans bounce up and down, cheering on their beloved Minnesota North... er... Dallas Stars.
Then, I caught myself.
Yep... that's a packed arena. Yep... that's a sold out crowd. Yep... they understand the game. And yep... they support their team.
Thank you to Norma and Gerald Bauman for the souvenir from Montreal. In the midst of cheering on the Flyers, they took time to think of us little people back in Saskatoon. (Maybe it was sympathy because the Habs lost. It's tough being a Canadiens fan) Philadelphia was, by far and away, the best team in that series.

TSN analyst Glenn Healy made me LOL (cool eh...."laugh out loud") Sunday night during the final stages of the second game of the Stars/Sharks series.
Yep, that's right. I said it. I don't like hockey. Not that it really matters. I just tune out, hockey fans tune in, and everybody's happy. But not this year.
This year, I'm surrounded by hockey-talk. Not only do I hear about it on our station, but I also read about it here and hear it in the hallway. AND IT'S JUST STARTED. Now that the playoffs are here, it's just hockey, hockey, hockey.
And I don't care.
I'd rather be outside going for a run, cleaning my yard or attempting to untangle a fine and delicate gold chain.
It's the opening night of the Stanley Cup playoffs. You know that means.
Am I the only one not feeling sorry for the Edmonton Eskimos. How many times have I gone into Edmonton to watch the Roughriders get waxed and leave with all the Edmonton fans laughing at me. It's about time to wear the cleat on the other foot. We're buying tickets for our home playoff game and are about to end their season. What could possibly be better?
