Earth --- reviewed by Craig the Movie Geek

State of Play --- movie review!

Billy Bob Thornton is a petulant man-child!

Wow.  Billy Bob Thornton is a petulant child.  He recently appeared with his current band The Boxmasters on CBC’s Q with Jian Ghomeshi and revealed to the world that he is a totally spoiled schmuck who has a hilariously overblown estimation of his own musical knowledge and ability.  The incident is taking the internet by storm and people are comparing it to Joaquin Phoenix’s odd behaviour as of late --- but it’s not that at all.  Phoenix is up to something, mark my words.  Thornton is just a jerk.

The Movie Geek hits Moose Jaw - false advertising!

I’m impressed that Moose Jaw has managed to turn a few spurious tourist attractions into a destination.  This past weekend, my wife Jenny and I spent the night there and I had some reflections.  I’ll preface this blog by asking you to please take this as a humourous entry and not an attempt to talk smack about Moose Jaw.  Moose Jaw is a friendly little town and its people are very nice.  I know how proud we in Saskatchewan can be, so I don’t want anyone to feel disrespected.  I have to say though, there are some smoke and mirrors behind the Moose Jaw tourism draw.

The Watchmen --- reviewed by Craig Silliphant "The Movie Geek"

Dir: Zack Snyder (Dawn of the Dead, 300)  Stars: Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley, Billy Crudup, Malin Akerman

Synopsis:  Based on the comic book limited series/graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, The Watchmen tells the story of an alternate 1985, where costumed heroes are being knocked off as part of a much more fiendish plot.
