A few months ago, we embarked on the project to rebuild our News Talk Radio websites. You know... better... faster... easier... stronger.
Well, after a few months of hard work... and input from people like you... we are almost set to embark on a brand new web journey.
This weekend, we will be flipping the switch and launching new News Talk Radio websites in both Regina and Saskatoon. I am really pleased with how the sites have turned out and I am excited to see them go live. Here is just a short list of some of the changes you're going to find:
> Clarity. It's a great thing. Take today's appearance by Tom Lukiwski on John Gormley Live. He made it explicitly clear about what he meant in this apology two months ago.
I can assure you, Mr. Speaker, and all of my colleagues in this House, that I will spend the rest of my career and my life trying to make up for those shameless comments.*
Guess who was a no-show for the annual GLBT pride parade in Regina?

^^^This guy.^^^
A spokesperson for the GLBT community says that an invitation was sent to Tom Lukiwski's office, and via e-mail. But the parade organizers got no response. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero.
Some may say Lukiwski has every right not to go... that he shouldn't have to subject himself to a potentially hostile environment. But the ship has sailed on that score long ago.
There's a reason why the union representing registered nurses in the province of Saskatchewan chose the name they did...
SURN sounds angry.
SUN sounds happy.
How can you disagree with the word SUN?
Like the unionesque term "working people" (because non-unionized folks like you and I don't "work", I guess), the use of words by SUN bother me.
There are two sentences from the Emma Lake weekend stories that jump out and burn my eyeballs.
Kids were also throwing rocks at police, one officer was hit in the face. RCMP Sergeant Carol Raymond says the person who threw it wasn't caught.
Oh... how perfect.
Why is it that every time there's a May long weekend in Saskatchewan, my faith in parents being proper moral compasses for their spawn is diminished so greatly?
I was listening to Mitchell Blair on The Drew Remenda Sports Show Friday night talk about pro athletes, and how young is too young to get kids to be 'pros'. It got me to thinking about kids and hockey... and how we force boys in this country to grow up way too quickly if they have even a spark of ability to put the puck in the net.
A couple of weeks ago the WHL held its Bantam Draft. Bantam kids are age 14-15.
Is it just me, or do Canadian hockey fans tend to give off that 'slighted yet hopeful ex-boyfriend' vibe?
I say this after spending 30 minutes on the elliptical tonight at the gym. There, I found myself gritting my teeth as I watched barbeque-mastering, red-state inhabiting, Dubya-loving Texans bounce up and down, cheering on their beloved Minnesota North... er... Dallas Stars.
Then, I caught myself.
Yep... that's a packed arena. Yep... that's a sold out crowd. Yep... they understand the game. And yep... they support their team.

This is not a vehicle. It is a farm implement.

This is a highway. Vehicles travel on highways.
2008 might just go down in history as the year Canadians stopped getting taken to the cleaners on cell phone voice and data prices.
Exhibit A?
